This week has been a quiet but also fulfilling one for me. I ended campaigning at my alma mater, Dority International Secondary School and Intl Early Learning School, where I engaged teachers, parents and students from Primary 4 all through to SS3 (grades 4 - 12). 



The kids were ecstatic because for them, here was a former student who once stood in their shoes. Many right there convinced their parents to vote AAP because I was their candidate. Even the younger kids knew my name, party and ballot number. I was shocked. They all asked brilliant questions. I thought I was in a real townhall meeting with grown folks. This was the 'high' I needed to conclude this phase of a very life-altering rollercoaster journey. As did say, regardless of the outcome of the elections this saturday, (assuming nothing else happens) I am committed to nation building by investing in youth lives. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that the sales of JAMB registration form for 2019 UTME will commence on January 10th, 2019. The announcement was made by JAMB's Registrar Professor Oloyede during a meeting with owners of JAMB Computer Based Test Centres at the University of Lagos. According to professor Oloyede, the sales of form will start January 10th and last for 6 weeks. Followed by the examination in March. He further disclosed that the board will not allow Cyber Cafe operators to register candidates because they are extorting candidates and overcharging them and also engaging in services that they do not have the capacity to do. President Muhammadu Buhari has called on journalists across the world to ensure that they continue to uphold the ethics of their profession and practice good journalism. This, he said, is because good journalism is critical to the development and growth of societies and is needed to combat the challenges posed by fake news. The President made the call at the 2018 World Congress of the International Press Institute (IPI), which had the theme ‘Why Good Journalism Matters’ in Abuja, the nation’s capital on Thursday. He said, “In a world where the borderline between hate speech and free speech has become blurred, good journalism matters. “In an environment where fake news dwarfs investigative journalism, good journalism matters. For survival in an increasingly competitive field, good journalism matters. Breastfeeding advocates were outraged this week after The New York Times reported that the U.S. took drastic measures to try to block an international resolution encouraging breastfeeding. Public health advocates see the dispute as yet another reminder of the enormous marketing power of the $70 billion baby formula industry. “It’s public health versus a massive, massive industry with powerful and entrenched interests,” said Lucy Sullivan, executive director of the nonprofit 1,000 Days, which works to improve nutrition for women and children. “They’re only getting more powerful and they’re only getting more emboldened by the likes of the Trump administration.” The resolution, which advocates expected would pass quickly at the World Health Assembly in Geneva in May, was pretty “vanilla,” Sullivan said. Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other financial institutions, Rafiu Ibrahim (APC, Kwara) has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement that over 6,403 projects were introduced into the budget at the National Assembly. Reacting in a phone interview, Ibrahim said: “Why did he sign it? If he has so much reservations, he shouldn’t have signed it. He cannot continue to disparage the integrity of the National Assembly. “We will not agree with our leadership to continue to bend backward for the President. Now he is talking as if it was our doing which is very dishonest of the President.
