Prophet Reveals who will win Nigeria's 2019 Presidential Election Primate Elijah Ayodele, the founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, says Senate President Bukola Saraki will win the 2019 presidential election if he emerges Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate. The prophet, however, warned that the 2019 election will be tougher than that of 2015. Ayodele spoke on Wednesday in Ikere-Ekiti at an empowerment programme he organised in memory of his late father, Elder Olalekan Ayodele, who died 15 years ago. The cleric said he saw storms that period but was quick to add that the country would still survive the period. He warned that the raging National Assembly crisis might lead to the collapse of democracy in Nigeria if not well handled. On the National Assembly crisis, he said: “Whatever they are doing in the Senate or in government, that is their own problem. “I have said that nobody can remove Saraki, I don’t know Saraki, I have not met Saraki and I don’...

Image
THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirmed yesterday that that it was closing in on some former and present senior staff of the Joint Matriculations Board (JAMB) implicated in an alleged N8 billion deal. An employee of the organisation, Philomina Chieshe, who claimed that a snake swallowed N36 million revenue from scratch cards, is among those slated for trial. Some of the affected former and present directors of JAMB may also be invited soon by the anti-graft commission. The handover of the top management staff to the EFCC followed an audit report which alleged that JAMB failed to remit revenue in excess of N8 billion to the Federal Government between 2010 and 2015. The alleged fraud sum includes unremitted Value Added Tax and Withholding Tax. The Federal Government, according to sources, was surprised that the new management of JAMB, led by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, remitted N7.8 billion to the treasury in contrast to the poor showing of the agency betwee...

Image
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Federal Government of shopping for a fraudulent interim court order to declare vacant, the seat of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, following his defection from the APC to the PDP. The PDP in a statement released by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, said that credible information at its disposal showed that some cabals in the Presidency and APC had perfected a plan to institute a lawsuit to challenge the validity of Saraki’s seat with the sole aim of securing a fraudulent injunction to force him out of office pending the determination of the substantive suit. The statement in part reads Further intelligence available to us shows that once they are able to secure the injunction from a particular compromised judicial officer, they intend to arraign and detain the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, on trumped up charges and ensure he is not granted bail so a...
